OUR PARTNERS
The Friends of Edgewood Park collaborates closely with several key partners to sustain and enhance the park's legacy:
Westville Village Renaissance Association (WVRA): WVRA supports our initiatives by fostering a strong sense of community within the Westville neighborhood. They help coordinate events and advocate for the integration of Edgewood Park into the cultural and economic vitality of the area.
New Haven Parks Department: As stewards of the city’s green spaces, the New Haven Parks Department works alongside us to maintain and improve the park’s facilities, trails, and recreational areas, ensuring it remains a vibrant space for all visitors.
State of Connecticut: The State of Connecticut provides resources and guidance to protect the park’s natural habitats and historical elements. Through state-funded grants and conservation programs, we are able to undertake larger restoration and improvement projects.
City of New Haven: The City of New Haven is a vital partner in supporting infrastructure improvements and public safety measures in the park. Their commitment ensures that Edgewood Park continues to be a safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
Urban Resources Initiative (URI)
Urban Resources Initiative (URI) is a not-for-profit partnership with Yale actively engaged in community greenspace and forestry activities throughout New Haven. URI's Community Greenspace program provides trees, supplies, technical advice, and hands-on training to support the Friends of Edgewood Park's Green Team's stewardship of the park. URI serves as our fiscal agent and includes us under its 401(c)3 umbrella. Urban Resources Initiative
